A couple at center can be seen strolling through a park-like setting in the village of Chester, Nova Scotia in Canada. Founded in 1759 and known as a holiday and resort destination, it is located in the southeastern part of Lunenburg County near Mahone Bay.


The pictorial landscape view was taken in 1910 by American pictorial photographer Karl Struss. (1886-1981) This vintage Japan tissue, hand-pulled photogravure was included with Camera Work XXXVIII and published in 1912. The work is included along with its' native sheet of Enfield watermarked 1887 laid paper.

Condition: Excellent. Corner fold crease to tissue in upper right corner approximately 3.0 cm in from corner, not intruding into image; slight bumping to upper right corner and several minute closed tears along right Enfield margin; off-center tissue mounted .5 cm along upper left edge of Enfield support.
