Dating to 1899, this early pictorial landscape by American photographer Alfred Stieglitz (1864-1946) depicts shocks of wheat drying on a hillside. This halftone has been reproduced from the original gum print and published in 1905 by Stieglitz in Camera Work XII.
Condition: Excellent. Halftone plate corner-glued to oversized sheet of handmade Japan paper which has been glued along left margin of native Enfield, laid-paper support.
