This pleasing pictorial landscape study of trees reflected in a pond from a gum bichromate print was taken by Leipzig photographer Richard Hoh. A partner in a company that manufactured photographic equipment including items used in the darkroom, he was the namesake of Richard Hoh & Company of Leipzig, Germany. The concern was founded in October, 1899 along with partners August Hermannn and Friedrich August Hahne.
Titled Abendfrieden, or "Evening Peace" within the lower plate margin, this vintage hand-pulled photogravure was printed in 1900 and included in the important German publication Die Kunst in der Photographie.
