Alfred Stieglitz spent part of the summer of 1894 photographing in and around Venice, Italy. This halftone plate reproduced from a glycerine print shows two residents having a conversation under a lamppost.
This photograph reproduced as a halftone plate for the July, 1902 issue of Camera Notes, (vol.6 no.1) the journal of the Camera Club of New York. This issue was the last while Alfred Stieglitz still edited it. A rare opportunity to acquire this elusive work.
Bumping to upper right plate corner. Minute closed tear to right margin. Printed on thick white coated paper stock. Original tissue guard printed in red ink giving credit to photographer and title of work still glued along lower plate margin. Two sets of staple holes on lower plate margin with the left set showing tear to one hole after being pulled from text block. Please inspect all photographs with listing.
